6/18/2010 // The End...and a Beginning
Best wishes to our eighty (80!) 2010 graduates and their families. Our graduation ceremony on the 15th was joyful and musical thanks to our African dancers & drummers! Special thanks to Mr. James Causey from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel who gave our commencement address. Special recognition to our 2010 Valedictorian, Tequila Underwood, and our Salutatorian, Jaleesa McKinney.

The 2010-11 school year will begin on Wed. Sept. 1st.
We are accdepting applications for 11th & 12th grade seats over the summer. Please call 298-9390 and leave a message for Mr. Rosales. He will set up an appointment.

We are saddened to announce that our colleague, friend, and New School co-founder Edna Taylor passed away. Mrs. Taylor was a dedicated and creative educator who found ways to reach even the most challenging young person. Her warmth, humor and dedication were important elements in the success of the New School. She truly touched thousands of lives.
Here is information on services:

Visitation/Wake: Fri. Feb. 26th 3:00-7:00 p.m. (Family hour- 6-7 p.m.)
In-state: Sat. Feb. 27th 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Funeral service: Sat. Feb. 27th 1:00 p.m.
All services will take place at St Matthews CME Church 2944 N. 9th St.

Welcome to the 2009-10 school year! School begins on Tuesday, Sept. 1st. All students should report at 8:00 a.m. September 1st & 2nd will not be full school days. The 2009-2010 school year will begin on Tuesday, September 1st. All students should report to The New School at 8:00 a.m. We will welcome new and returning students, have initial Advisory meetings, and half of the student body will do Programming for Qtr. 1.
